Adam undertakes strategic planning studies looking at the best locations and implications of new houses, shops, roads, train stations and parks. This involves site inspections, regular meetings, working with allied professions such as architects and engineers, preparing plans and reports and advocating proposals at VCAT or Planning Panels.
The diversity of the work – one day you could be investigating a high rise in Docklands, the next a huge wind farm in Victorias west.
I took Geography in VCE, then studies Town Planning and Development at Melbourne Uni, before completing my education at Monash where I studied Environmental Science.
I managed to obtain great work experience at several town planning organisations/agencies which exposes you to the issues early.
